Celtic Fest Celebrates Scottish Heritage and More
Belle Mont Celtic Fest - May 11th
The Belle Mont Celtic Fest, featuring the music and culture of Scotland and Ireland, will be held on May 11th on the grounds of historic Belle Mont Mansion, 1569 Cook Lane, Tuscumbia. The Steel City Rovers from Ontario, Canada, will headline the event, joining returning artists the Piper Jones Band and Chambless & Muse. First-time performers will be the Alabama Pipes and Drums. Food vendors, kids' activities, crafts, Celtic merchandise, and demonstrators on site. Bring blankets and chairs. Advance Tickets for the Saturday festival are discounted if purchased in advance through Eventbrite or by calling 256-381-5052: Adults $5.00, Youths (13-18 years) $5.00, Children (12 years and under) Free. Gate Admission on Saturday: (Cashed preferred) Adults $10.00, Youths $5.00, Children 12 and under Free. Rain location is Northwest Shoals Community College. A free pre-festival day at the museum will be held on Friday, May 10th. Enjoy chamber music, lectures, life-skill demonstrators, and a demo of Gordon Setters will be included.
Belle Mont Mansion (circa 1828) was built for Dr. Alexander Mitchell, an early settler of Scottish heritage. A significant Federal period home, it is owned by the Alabama Historical Commission,
