Lakepoint State Park
Eufaula, AL
Make it a point to find yourself in Eufaula! Once there, you’ll be drawn to Lakepoint State Park and the 45,000-acre Eufaula Lake, also known as “The Bass Capital of the World.” Bring your boat and park it in the marina or hike and play with your family or friends. The lodge is a big hit for large parties, and the lakeside cabins are also quite nice.
Where to sleep?
The Lakepoint Resort Lodge and Convention Center is ideal for retreats and conferences. The 29 cabins throughout the park are great for small or large parties. The 10 lakeside cottages are kept nicely and have great views of the water. If you are feeling brave, tent camping is also available but keep an eye out for mama alligators.
What to do?
Cool off after a day outdoors in the pool. Recover and refuel in the Lodge in a couple of different restaurants and dining facilities that overlook the water. Hike the nature trails or fish in the local tournaments. Looking for a place to ride your new Polaris? Now you can even bring your own ORVs (off-road vehicles) for some awesome trail riding with varying degrees of difficulty. Don’t own your own? Rent a go-cart from the park hourly for the younger riders in your group. The old golf course has been turned into a trail rider’s dream with rock sections and dirt embankments. It’s a 6-mile course that has different skill levels for everyone in the family or friend group.
