The pier at the Gulf State Park is being renovated from the hurricane in 2020 and should be ready by Summer 2024.The beach and the pavilion are a great place to hang out on the gulf and the Lake Shelby day use area has kayaking and canoeing while visiting. Get in some good exercise by biking the Backcountry trail full of flowers and gardens. You can even parasail!

Where to sleep?

Here you can stay in cottages, cabins, full service, primitive, or outpost campsites while smelling the salty air.

What to do?

Looking for something to do other than just sit on the beach? Take your dogs to the dog park at the lake. Go out for some geocaching, Segway tours, or fishing. Take the kids to the Nature Center for some educational time - or stretch your legs on the trails! It’s a wonderful way to change up the beach scenery at the Gulf.
