Alabama State Parks Showcase Alabama the Beautiful

January was long, and February was cold– and let’s face it - our desire to return to the sunshine is real. It’s one of the reasons we choose to call Alabama home. Right? We suffer through the dark winter of the central time zone to emerge from our homes in the light of the sun much earlier than in other parts of the country. Sure, we will have the occasional snow or freeze that pops up in early spring, but by and large, we have been liberated from winter by our decision to live here in Alabama the Beautiful. By the time you read this, we will even be going into the ever-controversial Daylight Savings Time. Whether that makes you cheer or jeer, we can all agree to delight in the fact that the sun is back out and stays out for longer.

We can also all agree that it’s a great time to GET OUTDOORS.As such, we bring you Alabama State Parks. Alabama the Beautiful is on full display in every season thanks to the glory that is our state parks system.

When was the last time that you gave one of these beauties a visit? For every level of “outdoorsy” that you may be - from eating takeout in the grass to rappelling Alabama cliffs and boulders, there is absolutely something for everyone at Alabama State Parks.

So, take a look at our posts about the State Park near you, start the friend or family group text to rally a travel group, and plan a wonderful visit to the parks we love around the state.

And y’all - have you heard about glamping? Luxury tent camping is all the rage across the state of Alabama, and several of our parks offer these as a unique camping option. We’ve even conveniently highlighted what to do and where to stay in our awesome state parks. You’re welcome! Now go and enjoy the most beautiful backyard in the nation- Alabama State Parks!
