Opelika Songwriters Festival starting May 16

In the heart of Alabama, where the pines sway to the rhythm of a timeless melody, lies the quaint town of Opelika—a rare gen that beckons music lovers to experience the magic of its Songwriters Festival. Founded in 2019 by the musical duo Rob and Jen Slocumb, the Opelika Songwriters Festival has quickly become a multi-day celebration of world-class artists captivating performances, and the unique charm of a Southern railroad town.

Picture this: over 30 singer-songwriters from across the country converging in Opelika to play more than 80 shows in 7 distinct venues. These aren't just any venues; they're carefully chosen spots, ranging from cozy coffee shops to spirited distilleries, each providing an intimate listening room indicative of the eclectic culture of the festival.

Opelika, with its historic streets and warm hospitality, sets the stage for a musical journey, but the OSF isn't just about the music; it's an immersion into the heart and soul of a town that has preserved its history while embracing innovation.

"I was thrilled to experience first-hand the preservation renewal, and innovations that had taken place in recent years," said Russell Carter, festival co-producer, on his personal connection to Opelika.

The Marriott Resort and Spa at Grand National serves as the festivals official hotel, providing festival-goers with not just a comfortable stay but access to world-class amenities. Nestled alongside three, 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Golf courses, scenic views, and resort style pools, it's a haven for those seeking a perfect blend of music, activity, and relaxation.

The Opelika Songwriters Festival is an experience that unfolds over multiple days, allowing attendees to savor the richness of each performance and curate their musical journey hopping from one intimate setting to another, each with unique charm.

Musicians themselves, the Slocumb's vision has grown into a must-attend event for music enthusiasts. The festival showcases established artists as well as emerging talents, contributing to the vibrate tapestry of Opelika's music scene. At the heart of the festival lies a commitment to fostering connections—between artists and their audience, between tradition and innovation, and between town and its visitors. It's not just a festival; it's a celebration of the universal language of music.
