How to Tour the Covered Bridges of Blount County

What is more picturesque in the south than a charming covered bridge in the fall? The covered bridges of Blount County are beautiful and historic places to visit. Three lovely bridges are within a 30 minute drive of each other, each with a slightly different build. Dating back to 1927, 1933 and 1934 respectively, the Easley, Swann and Horton Mill Bridges beckon you for an enchanting walk through the past. While the bridges aren’t available for driving across anymore, parking at the bridges and walking across them is like stepping back in time. Pack a picnic and walk down to the creek banks of sand for a picturesque stop on your drive. Maintained by the Blount County Commission, a fall visit is definitely worth the time, and the picture.
