Wetumpka is a small city located in central Alabama, in Elmore County. It is situated on the banks of the Coosa River and is known for its historic downtown district, which features a variety of unique shops, restaurants, and attractions.

One of the most popular attractions in Wetumpka is the Wetumpka Impact Crater, a geological formation created over 80 million years ago when a meteorite impacted the earth's surface. Visitors can learn about the history of the impact crater at the Wetumpka Crater Interpretive Center, which features exhibits, displays, and interactive activities.
