Food and Wine Festival begins April 21st in the City of Northport

Make your plans now to get to Downtown Northport April 21 for the West Alabama Food and Wine Festival. The festival returns to Main Avenue for the second year after raising a record $40,000 for West Alabama Food Bank (WAFB) in 2023.

The festival features more than 26 food vendors and libation samples from more than a dozen wine, beer, and spirits vendors.

"Last year's event was a huge success in Downtown Northport because it allowed us to cater to a much larger crowd and get great exposure for the West Alabama Food Bank," said Brandon Tribble, co-chair of the West Alabama Food and Wine Festival and owner of Avenue Pub and Central Mesa. "We expect to have a great crowd again this year and raise even more money for our beneficiaries. Our team is grateful to the City of Northport for their hospitality and support, and we can't wait for another successful event in 2024."

In addition to tasting your way through downtown Northport, the Food & Wine Festival offers a symphony for your senses. Whether it is the live entertainment, thrill of a purchase from the Wine Wall, or just the general ambiance, sights and sounds of the festival, the organizers are sure you love the experience as much as they do.

In addition to raising money for WAFB, which distributes food to agencies across nine Alabama counties to help alleviate hunger in the state, the festival will also raise money this year for Turning Point. A first-year beneficiary, Turning Point is the second-oldest domestic violence shelter in the State of Alabama, serving and supporting survivors for more than 35 years. The board chose to support both WAFB and Turning Point after an open call for new beneficiaries this fall. WAFB has been the sole festival beneficiary for the last two years.

"These remarkable organizations tirelessly champion invaluable causes that enrich and nourish the live of out fellow community members," said Debbie Puckett, co-chair of the West Alabama Food and Wine Festival and realtor for Keller-Williams. "Turning Point, a beacon of hope for survivors of domestic violence, empowers individuals to break free from the cycle of abuse, nurturing healing, and fostering long-lasting change. Meanwhile, West Alabama Food Bank serves as a lifeline, providing sustenance to families facing food insecurity, ensuring that non one in our community goes to bed hungry. The West Alabama Food & Wine Festival is honored to lend our support to these two beneficiaries so we can help further their transformative work."

Since 2013, the West Alabama Food & Wine Festival has raised more than $150,000 for nonprofits in West Alabama. Downtown Northport serves as the festival location after a successful five-year run at the Tuscaloosa Rivermarket.

Early bird tickets are available for early purchase for $75 plus handling fees until Match 31. VIP tickets are also available for $100. After March 31, the tickets are $100 and $125, respectively. Guests must be 21 and able to provide a valid ID to attend the festival. For tickets and additional information, visit www.westalabamafoodandwine.org.
