Elevate Your Holiday Table with This Easy Block Print DIY

Block prints are trending this season, but can be a little on the pricey side for quality table linens, and sometimes hard to source. Try this easy DIY to elevate your tablescape and give it your personal touch!

1. Gather your supplies:

2. *Quality stamp or block. Try Etsy for sourcing unique block print designs.

3. *Fabric or napkins. Cotton or linen is best.

4. *Waterproof permanent ink, such as Archival Ink, which can be washed.

5. Determine your pattern. Do you want your design to be close together or spread further apart? Will you create a border around the perimeter or just an allover repeating pattern? In this instance, an allover pattern was chosen because of the small size of the stamp.

6. Start stamping a vertical row, making sure to firmly press down on the ink pad to load with ink, and then firmly pressing onto the fabric with a slight rocking motion to ensure full transfer of the design. After the first row is complete, start the second vertical row on the offset of the previous row. Repeat this pattern, making sure each new row is offset.

7. Once ink is completely dry, you can wash your napkins before use.

Try this techniques with linens, too! Tea towels and tablecloths would be beautiful to block print as well!
